That diet doesn't sound too healthy are you not worried about the impact it may have on your future health?

Hi Scottishmum!

A very warm welcome to you Its great to have another bod on board! Congrats on quitting smoking I'm wanting to quit to but atm am following Boots advice of taking one step at a time Will quit once I've managed to lose the weight Admire your will power

Are you sure that diet is safe? You hear such horror stories about these drastic low calory diets. Hope you're not taking on too much.

All the best

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome. I have surprised myself over the past few weeks as to how much willpower I do actually have. The good thing is on Lighter Life after the first two days you're not actually hungry so that helps. Also because I'm obsessing over LL I'm not thinking about the fags!

As for the concerns over whether its healthy or not. VLCD's (Very low calorie diets) have been around for a long time, as has Lighter Life. It is done under medical supervision and you have to be signed onto the diet by your doctor, plus undergo a medical check every four weeks. Its a very well respected diet and variations of it are used by the nhs for people about to undergo gastric banding surgery.

I wouldn't undertake anything that I hadn't thoroughly researched and deemed to be unrisky to me. Five days in, I can't tell you how healthy I feel. Today I feel absolutely wonderful, its probably because I have gone through the equivalent of a detox.

If anybody's interested, here's my blog if you want a read. My Lighter Life Journey
