Default 16lb to lose

Hi,

I have just over a stone to lose, but don't know which diet to pick that will suit me. I eat at odd times, due to work so don't get to sit down and eat 3 proper meals, any suggestions on what would be a good idea?

My wife swears by the cabbage soup diet - although this seems to be for rapid weight loss when we go on holiday and she wants to wear a decent swim suit etc.
Apparently you eat very little other than cabbage soup. You can eat as much as you like. You feel completely full but there is nothing in it to make you fat. I think that you have to supplement it with some nutrient foods as well - but not much and very strictly controlled.

I expect that for long term weight loss though, you really need to start accepting less to eat - and cabbage soup doesn't do that for you. Also you would need to tie it in with a proper exercise regime.

I found a Wiki link to cabbage diets here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabbage_soup_diet

Seems to be a bit controversial about what it actuly does.

If you eat less then you don't loose weight,
Because your body is still releasing Insulin, thinking you are going to eat but your not.

Also chewing gum, burns holes in your stomach, because you are chewing and your stomach is getting ready for all the food to come down and get all burned

How about.. no diet at all Snowdrop? Avoid that which you know is bad and stick to the good stuff out there. Don't get hung up on calories or the 'three square meals a day' idea. I understand that term comes from sailing days when ships had wooden plates for the crew which were square as it's easier to make a square plate than use a turner to make a round one. The crew were given 3 meals a day.. hence..."three square meals".
Spreading your meals out so you are constantly fuelled is the best way to achieve fitness and long term fat loss.
