Default Implants - pacemakers

I've never had a transplant but I have 2 implants. One is just the contraceptive implant "implanon" and the other is a pacemaker.

The implant procedures are different to transplants because I was awake for both of my procedures and there's almost zero chance of my body rejecting the new bits but it was hard for me to stomach at 21 needing a pacemaker. It was always hoped that I would outgrow my medical condition and this just spelled out what I had always denied, i'm never going to be "normal".

For now I'm getting over the "half brick" feeling in my chest and I've been massaging the scar to reduce scarring. The most recent interrogation (i've only had 2) says my pacemaker should last 6 years before i need a new one.

It would be nice to talk to other impant patients if there are any about.
