Default xanadu taking the plunge

Made up my mind to that today was the day with the help of Brassed off.

Haven't had one since 10.30pm last night when I ran out. Not feeling to bad at the moment but I'm sure I will. I'm going straight cold turkey.

Wish me luck!

Hey, you didn't need any help Xan, you'd already made your mind up, you clever bunny!

Well done btw, I was still puffing like there was no tomorrow at 12.30 last night, putting off going to bed knowing that in the morning there would be no ciggies

I'm going to send you a PM (if the forum will let me *winks*) because I have some good stuff to read to help with quitting, especially when the temptation becomes strong. It is far too long to post on here.

We'll have to sort our tracker things out tomorrow, because we will be so proud of having gone just one day without a fag It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's stopped today. Good to have healthy competition, bet you I'll manage a week before you do *sticks out tongue* LOL

Go get 'em Tiger (or not, as the case may be )

Thanks for the support everyone! Thanks for the pm Bo that would be great. Hope you are doing well!

I've managed to set up my tracker I've managed the first 24 hrs and feeling really proud of myself. Cravings are getting quite bad this evening was doing ok most of the day. Kept myself busy. I don't think my house has ever had such a vigorous clean.

Hey, are you sure we're not related Xan? I even cleaned all my windows yesterday to take my mind off "it" and I'm on the "dog food"

Ooo, I see day 2 on your tracker - Bo is *impressed*. Well done you ;-) On my last attempt to quit, I found that if the craving got really bad at night, just go to bed. Simple but effective I think.

Another little tactic I found is when you've eaten your evening meal, instead of sitting down with a coffee/glass of wine, go and sort out your kitchen straight away, it really does help to stamp out the cravings because by the time you've washed up, the craving has disappeared.

Hey, rooting for you girl

Hey, well done you. Believe me, I've been there and I definitely know what you're going through. I am amazed at your strength tbh as you don't have anyone in the house to shout at unlike me

Keep trying girl, we'll be here for you and even if you do succumb to that craving, let it pass you by and move on. Just think how pretty your Ticker is going to look tomorrow and if you can't cope, go to bed - simple really (says Bo who for five weeks last year, was in bed by 9.30pm )

Don't forget you have competition now as we both stopped on the same day and if nothing else, I do like a bit of "healthy" competition!!!

Go girl - c ya tomorrow Bo *waves* at Xan

Thanks for the support Bo. Not sure how I'd have coped without you. I'd probably still be thinking about when I'm going to give up and keep coming up with excuses.

Still gritting my teeth and cravings still very strong. I know if I can last out the next couple of days things will start to get easier. I'm not backing out now as it will undo all the hardwork I've done so far. Determined to see this one through now Bo. No backing down from me which means you can't either

Keep strong Bo!
