Well, I like it Gizmo !!
Apologies, didn't get round to updating my thread last night as I spent most of the night trying to work out some bank charges for a mate
Well, I went for my appointment with a Cessation Counsellor (my sat nav got me lost and I was so stressed by the time I got there - and people wonder why I smoke

) who had a look at my medical details and gave me lots of info on the Champix (she pronounced it Shampix

).
She spoke from experience of other people who have been taking the Champix and advised that some had had side effects, some hadn't. The main side effects she found that peeps were experiencing were nausea (alleviated by making sure you eat at the time you take your tablet), unusual dreams/sleeping patterns, which seemed to last a couple of weeks before subsiding and in some cases, depression.
I was also asked to blow into a machine which silly me, thought was measuring my lung capacity

I thought I was being really clever after getting a score of 42 until she showed me a chart which measures carbon monoxide content. Er, 42 is about just over a quarter of the way from the top of the chart and is "risk of stroke level" - very scarey
I have to have permission from my doctor in order to receive my first lot of tablets as some 5-6 years ago, I did suffer from depression. She advised me that if I began to feel depressed, to stop taking the Champix and contact my doctor straight away.
I see my doctor on Friday so hopefully I will start taking the tablets on Saturday morning. The reason for this is that at first, I was advised that I may feel a little drowsy so I would rather not be driving on that day.
Whilst waiting to see the Counsellor, I spoke to a lady in the waiting room who was telling me that she had stopped smoking using Champix and the only side effect she'd had was getting a little bad tempered around "the time of the month". Er, I haven't told Mr Bo about this yet
Hope you're still going strong Scottie!!
