AFAIK, it's three months for the Champix. Tbh, you will get negative stories about every type of medication going, the only way to find out, is to take it youself. Do you know Renog, March 1st sounds fine for me. I have a very busy week this week so Saturday is probably the best day. So Saturday it is!

I really can't see Rory watching me down the pub, he's too busy with CAG thank goodness!!! That did make me giggle though and as for Rameses..........

Looks like I'm in the dog house today. I have been having problems for some time with my throat/salivary gland and this morning I had to see the Consultant again. He told me in no uncertain terms that I MUST stop smoking. I'm having a biopsy on the inside of my cheek because of something called Lichen Planus which basically looks like dead skin but can become cancerous if it's not checked regularly.

He said that my risk of cancer of the mouth is increasing daily and that I have no alternative but to stop straight away - like today. I couldn't get out of there quick enough tbh because I could feel the "water works" coming on. And what's the first thing I did...... yep, you guessed it.

I'm still going to pick Saturday as my day though and thanks Xanadu, we can do it together I'm sure (have you got a thread running?)

I think it's the fact that I know I HAVE to stop now which will hopefully spur me on.

Oh no thats awful Bo. Hopefully it will give you the determination to succeed. I'm definately going to stop Saturday. Will start a thread then. We'll get through this together and be smoke free for life Just think of all the benefits we will gain, not panicking everytime you reaching the end of a pack. Not dashing out to the shops late at night in case you run out. Not smelling of smoke or waking up coughing and just think of all the money you will be able to spend on things you really like and thats not even considering the health benefits.

How awful Bo. Reading through the threads here makes me even more determined to give up. It is so difficult though but I know I'm going to be strong resist the cravings.

My D day was 4 days ago. It was really bad yesterday but a little easier today. You can do it Bo be strong.

I'm going cold turkey I've done it before and I'd rather just get the nicotine out of my system as soon as possible. I know its going to be tough but I'm determined to do it and if I do it, you HAVE to
