Brassed off is on a distinguished road
Default Re: Is Brassed Off Here?

Was going to update this every day but tbh, not much happening really and I'm still not getting instant e-mail notification from the site. Still taking the "dog food" 0.5mg in the morning and 0.5mg at night. Still on the fags and having weird dreams but apart from that, I've been OK. I really need to decide on a date though (*ponders*)!!

Until today that is!!!! I started on double the dose (blue tablets), so 1mg in the morning and 1mg at night. I took my first blue tablet this morning and have felt dreadful all day. I have a massive headache which has lasted all day and feel absolutely exhausted.

I have a few theories on this though, it may not necessarily be the tablets as I do have fibromyalgia which varies in severity so I really don't know whether the Champix have affected it or not.

I'm due to see the nurse again on Wednesday so I'll see what she says. I will continue to take the blue tablets unless the headaches get worse. I may just be having a reaction to a stronger dose.

Will let you know.

Bo - missing smileys like mad btw *winks* *giggles*

Hi bo,

I felt awful the first two days of being on double dose, but stick with it, its worth it.

I've had such a hard weekend, don't know whats wrong? Just realised that I've been messing about with the times I've been taking it at, so think I'll go back to my original times and hope for the best.

Keep it up!

C x

Phew, thanks C!

That's made me feel better.

I must admit I've tended to take the tablets when I eat and as I don't eat at regular times, perhaps this may be where I'm going wrong.

I did read a thread (somewhere) about the times of taking them but I can't remember where! I'm presuming they must be taken at regular intervals which I'm not doing at the moment. So it's my own fault *holds hands up*!!!

What times do you take them then?

I think that thread you'd read was mine. Someone here was saying that they take theirs when they get up in the morning and when they are going to bed. It does say "morning and evening" but I tend to take mine at 8am and 4pm and that works well for me. If I leave it till my dinner about 7pm I feel crap all night.

You stopped yet?

Thanks for that C, it doesn't seem to matter when I take the tablet, I still go through intermittent nausea, however, I do think I can put up with it now I've got used to it.

Er, nope, not stopped yet I'm afraid. I really do have to decide on a day to stop. I'm away this weekend so hopefully, I will have more time to make my decision and get my stop day firmly planted in my mind.

I've been back to the nurse and told her about the nausea but she says if I can put up with it, then I can keep taking the tablets but again, stressed how important it was to choose my day to stop.

Hi Xanadu *waves*! I'm trying, honest. My ciggie count has gone up and down this last week tbh but last night, I went five hours without one and today I really felt the "dog food" was beginning to kick in. On one of my breaks at work, I had a cig and really didn't enjoy it at all, so there's hope yet.

Thanks for the link to the smilies, I started the thread *winks*, I spotted it at work today but unfortunately, I didn't look there before I posted here if you know what I mean - hee hee - I did remember the grinning one though

Oh well, will keep plodding on as usual but at least I actually feel like the dog food is slowly beginning to work. Hmmmm.....

Hi BO I can sympahise with the starting date. I'm still putting it off, but I know I've got to do it. My new boyfriend isn't too keen and I've been wanting to quit for ages so hopefully this is the motivation I need. Sorry I hadn't realised you had started that thread

Thumbs up Re: Is Brassed Off Here?

Come on! How does March 1st sound as a stop day? New month and spring and all that. Just a thought. Still rooting for you. How long can you stay on Champix anyway? Saw a couple of negative stories about it on the news lately. Don't know a great deal about it to be honest though.

P.S. If you don't give up soon you may be in trouble. I heard that Consumer Health Forums may be actually be like 'Quitters Inc.' off Cat's Eye. You could soon have Bankfodder tailing you to work, Rory watching you down the pub and even Rameses in your cupboard on dark nights!!! :-0 Hurry!
