When someone smokes a cigarette, the smoke comes When smoke is present in a room, something like 70% - 80% of that smoke comes directly from the burning tip of the cigarette. It is this smoke which contains the highest concentration of nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, and many of the carcinogenic (cancer-causing) agents.

Smoking in pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth.
