Fostering and Adoption Forum

New Fostering, Adoption and Social Work Forum

Are you involved with fostering, adoption or social work?
Are you thinking of becoming foster carers or a social worker?
Were you fostered or adopted as a child?
Are you a parent whose child has been placed in the care system or is your family currently part of Child Protection Proceedings?

If so, then the UK Adoption & Fostering Forums are for you!

www.ukaff.org

The UK Adoption & Fostering Forums (www.ukaff.org) is a discussion forum for anyone involved with child social care in the UK.
You can discuss and share your personal and professional experience, with issues ranging from the legal framework to contact, to media coverage.
It should be of particular interest to Professionals in the following areas; Child Care Social Work Services, Foster Carers, HealthCare, Adoption, Education, CAMHs, Youth Justice, Leaving Care Services and Advocacy Services
It should also be of interest to Social Work Students and parents and families of children who are receiving services currently or have received services in the past.
We particularly want to encourage open debate and discussion between care givers and receivers about all aspects of the care system - both good and bad - with a view to increasing knowledge and understanding across the board.

UKAFF has received a research grant from the Children's Workforce Development Council.
We are hoping to build a resource that will improve communication and the outcomes for children in and on the edge of care.
